Example: If employee's regular dally work schedule is 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. <br />with an hour off for lunch (12 noon - 1 p.m.), hours spent traveling <br />between 8 a.ar. - 12 noon and 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. arc compensated regardless <br />of the day of the week which the travel occurs. <br /> <br />If an employee is offend public transportation but requests and is given <br />approval to use his/har automobile, travel time considered hours worked <br />shall be the shortest travel time to the intended destination between the <br />two forms of transportation. <br /> <br />Non-Compensated Time: <br /> <br />All other time (other than time delineated in item [1] above) is not compensated. <br />Non-compensated time includes but is not limited to: <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Travel time durin4~ hours outside of the employee' s regular daily hours of <br />work. <br /> <br />Example: Travel time after 5 p.m. for any employee who regularly works <br />8a.m, to5p.m. <br /> <br />(b) Meal breaks. <br /> <br />(c) Time spent at conference other than attending conference sessions, <br /> <br />Rate of Pay: Compensated conference and travel time occurring on an <br />employee's regular work day in excess of the employee's normal work day is <br />paid at 1% time. <br /> <br />Compensated conference and travel hours eeanrring on the earphiyee's day off are <br />compensated at 1% time. <br /> <br />All other compensated hours are paid at straight time. <br /> <br />OUT-OF-STATE-TRAVEL <br /> <br />Out-of-state travel will be limited to departmere heads and require advance approval of the City <br />Manager. <br /> <br />Travel to conferences located in "resort" areas (e.g. Hawaii), as determined by the City <br />Manager, are prohibited. <br /> <br />B-6 <br /> <br /> <br />
