e. PUD Condition _ requires that a Master Landscape Plan be prepazed For
the entire site. The plan is to be prepared by a registered landscape architect
Condition _ details the Plan requirements and calls for a tree planting program.
f The distribution of land uses under each of the development alternatives
would result in the loss of a significant number of major trees on the site. The No
Project Alternative is rejected because it would not meet any of the Ptojecl Sponsor's
objectives nor would it fulfill any of the City's objectives for this site, including
provision of additional housing, open space affordable housing, an elementary school
site and public improvements.
G. Geology, Soils, and Seismic Safety
1. Im act 1. Introduction of structures and population into an area in which the
likelihood of impacts from seismic events is high.
Mitigation Measure:
MeasureQl. None.
Findine: Specific economic, social, or other considerations make infeasible mitigation
measures or project alternatives identified in the Final EIR.
Facts in Support of Finding: The following facts demonstrate that it is not feasible to
mitigate the impact to a less than significant level.
a. The GHCBI PUD Plan must conform to [he policies and programs of the
Pleasanton General Plan, inclusive of those which address seismic concerns. In
addition, all construction in [he study azea must conform to the Uniform Building
Code and other applicable state and local seismic safety regulations. These
requirements mitigate potential risk to development from seismic events to the
maximum extent feasible based on current knowledge and technology. The level of
safety meets the City's acceptable risk policy. All project plans will be closely
reviewed by the City fur compliance with these standards.
h. The likelihood for seismic and geologic hazards will be evaluated during the
development review process, and slate-of=the-art soil engineering/construction
standards designed to reduce seismic risk are to be implemented.
c. The PUD Plan and Specific Plan Geologic Policy 1 requires prepazation of
detailed geotechnical investigations prior to approval of new development. Applicable
recommendations from these investigations must he incorporated into the
development, and local building codes must be followed in the process of siting,
designing, and constructing habitable structures.
66
