HEALTHY YOUTH AND FAMILIES <br /> <br />Promote the physical and emotional safety, creativity, and well being of the <br /> community's young people and their families. <br /> <br />GOAL: <br /> <br />To have access to information about healthcare, health insurance coverage <br />(Medi-Cal, 'Healthy Families"}, mental health services including crisis inter <br />vention and ongoing care, and after school services (mentoring, tutoring and <br />creative outlets} for all Pleasanton youth and families. <br /> <br />~ from the subcommitte~ of the Pleaaanton Youth Master Plan indicate that <br /> those individuals sun,~. <br /> <br />O~g-~'IV~S <br /> <br />Develop a community health care media plan and <br />create a comprehensive information dissemina- <br />tion system regarding health care services for <br />youth and families. <br /> <br />Develop technical assistance resources for agendes <br />and individuals in the community in areas such as <br />grant writing and fund development, which will <br />strengthen these entities and help keep the cost of <br />their services reasonable and customary for <br />Pleasanton residents. <br /> <br />IMPLEMENTATION SUGGESTIONS <br /> <br />Create an ongoing communication committee <br />composed of members of the Pleasanton Unified <br />School District (PI/SD), City of Pleasanton, County of <br />Alameda, other related agencies and local media. <br /> <br />The committee will meet at least quarterly and report <br />out on success made vis-a-vis the groups they repre- <br />sent as well as to the Youth Master Plan of Pleasanton <br />Implementation Committee. <br /> <br />Media includes, but is not limited to, websites, phone <br />lines, flyers, brochures, newspapers, school announce- <br />ments, cable TV and radio. A comprehensive brochure <br />describing the community's philosophy behind youth <br />se~wices and information available to concerned <br />residents and agencies is suggested. <br /> <br />Availability to information in multiple languages is <br />also important. <br /> <br />Possible providers/panners include the City of <br />pleasanton, Volunteer Center of Alameda County, and <br />other related agencies that will develop a program of <br />technical assistance providers to offer these services to <br />individuals and the community. <br /> <br />26 <br /> <br /> <br />
