COMMITTEE REPORTS.:
PUBLIC UTILITIES:
Councilman Abrott reported that the Councilmen had met Sunday, November 30th, to survey
the site for the proposed additional reservoir. The site east of our present reservoir
is somewhat lower than our present reservoir. A more suitable site would be on the
west side of present reservoir, on a piece of property approximately 175 x 175 feet o
by Mr. Andrews. This site would place the new reservoir approximately 15 to 20 feet'
higher than any property in the City limits with the exceptions of two knolls on Mr.
Duke Bondets property. Councilman Abrott then presented figures that he and Mr. Oxsen
had obtained regarding revenue bonds. They are as follows:
Mr. Oxsen was requested to contact the League of California Cities to secure the name
of a reliable bonding company in order to get the exact figures of the bond redemption
payments of each of the above bond issues.
Councilman Abrott then gave a comparison of water rates of several water companies in the
East Bay. Our rates proved to be lower than most of the other companies; therefore it
was decided that the City of Pleasanton could increase their minimum rate fifty cents
and still be in line with the rates of the other companies. It would increase our annual
water revenue approximately $5,000.00 which would help considerably in the retirement
of revenue bonds.
Councilman Abrott was requested to secure an estimate of the cost bf testing the site to
determine if it will hold the weight.
Mr. Frank Lucas appeared before the Council at this time to see what steps had been
taken to prevent the overflowing of the school yard. Mr.. Oxsen was asked to have Engineer
Goodridge survey the drainage at 2nd and Abbie Streets and get his recommendations for
preventing same.
Councilman Hansen reported that Mr. Adolphe Banke had contacted him regarding the removal
of a tree in front of his place at 1st and Angela Streets. Mr. Oxsen stated he had
already contacted Mr. Perry, of the P. G. E. Co., who would let us know if they would
trim the tree.
