It was Attorney White's opinion that under the Improvement Act of 1911, the
Town can order curbs in if 51 of the block already has curbs.
Engineer Goodridge asked the Council what type of controls they wished on existing
tanks. The Council stated either electrical or pressurized system. With this infor-
mation Engineer Goodridge expects to have the plans completed in a week or ten days.
Mayor Trimingham asked Engineer Goodridge's opinion on the Division of Highways
recommendation that Angela Street be widened to 64 feet. Engineer Goodridge stated
that there was no need for that width. Engineer Goodridge will contact Mr. Fortney, of
the Division of Highways, on this matter, and he will also contact Mr. Boggs, of the
County Surveyors' office, regarding the Town's application to the County for gas tax
funds for the repair of Division and Ray Streets.
Engineer Goodridge was instructed to proceed with the plans for the curb correction on
Main Street.
Mr. Oxsen read a, ommm inication from the County Planning Commission which recommended
Jz
changes in Mr. n sen's propesed sub division. Engineer Goodridge and the Council
reviewed the enclosed map. Engineer Goodridge stated that the Planning Commission's
plans would be suitable if Mr. Jensen owned the entire tract, but as he does not, he
gave full recommendation on the plans Mr. Jensen has submitted to the Council. Engi-
neer Goodridge suggested the Council apply to the County Surveyor's office for a permit
to lay a 6" cast iron pressure line for sewage across the bridge.
The Council reviewed the plans of the.proposed extension of First Street to the Pleasan-
ton Sunol Road. Their recommendations to
the Council were as follows:
One hour parking on Main Street between Ray Street and Angela Street, two hour
parking on Main Street from Ray Street to the Bridge, also two hour from Angela St.
to the City limits, and two hour off street parking for a certain distance from Main
St. Mr. Pinard also stated that in all probability the Chamber could secure two
lots near the center of town which could be used for merchants parking.
The Committee favored the parking limits instead of parking meters. Mayor Trimingham
stated that the installation of signs and the extra police service to enforce limited
parking would be quite an added expense to the Town; therefore, the Council had con-
sidered parking meters as that would be source of revenue. The Council agreed to
consider the recommendations of the Committee, and requested Mr. Oxsen to enquire from
the California Automobile Association the cost of parking limit signs.
Recess was called.
The meeting was again called to order.
CLAIMS NO. 1 to 53 were presented to the Finance Committee.
Claim No. Amount Warrant No.
1 Manuel U.
