Pleasanton, California
December 19, 1949
201
The Council of the Town of Pleasanton met in adjourned regular
session at 7:30 P.M. on the above date with Mayor Trimingham in the chair.
Roll call showed - present: Councilmen Brenner, Oxsen, Toney and Trim -
ingham; absent: Councilman Hansen. .
RESOLUTION NO. 2076, adopting specifications and authorizing calling for
bids for a new police car, was adopted on motion of Councilman Brenner,
seconded by Councilman Toney and approved by all Councilmen present.
RESOLUTION NO. 2075, accepting the Main Street resurfacing work, performed
under contract by Close Building Supply, as complete, and adjusting the
contract price for omission of the seal -coat, was adopted on motion of
Councilman Toney, seconded by Councilman Oxsen and approved by all Councilmen
present.
MR. JOE AVILLA was present at the meeting and requested permission to
install a septic tank on his property on Vineyard Avenue as the ground is
too low to enter the Town sewer main. Councilman Toney was requested to
check the cost of installing a pump to force the sewage into the main. .
Mr. Avilla also complained of the odor from the Reichmuth chickens in the
neighborhood. The Clerk was directed to ask Health Inspector Davis to see
what could be done about it. Mr. Avilla also requested information as to
the curb grades he had asked for some time ago. The Clerk advised that Mr.
Mancini. had phoned stating that he had worked out the grades for the curb,
but that due to the nature of the topography, being largely fill on the
north side of Vineyard Avenue, it would be advisable to make -the improvement
continuous at one time, rather than piece -meal by a single owner. It was
decided that Councilman Hansen should investigate the possibility of getting
all the property owners involved to do the work at one time.
THE CLERK reported that Mr. Mancini had also stated that the slope wall on
Division Street was badly undermined and that considerable backing had
Bluffed out, so that new footings and some backfill would be required. He
also stated that Mr. Bogg's office was concerned as to possible damage to
the County's proposed new bridge, but that repairs could not be made until
next Spring. •
MAYOR TRIMINGHAM reported that he had been contacted by an engineering firm
that proposed to furnish engineering services to small communities. The
Council was of the opinion that such services would be no improvement over
the existing procedure for securing engineering, services when required.
COMMUNICATIONS RECEIVED:
12/16 Harry Harding
12/7 Leo Pacheco
12/4 Women's Improvement Club
Suggested parking regulations.
Application for job at sewage
treatment plant.
Suggestions for tree planting.
ACTION ON COMMUNICATIONS: Mr. Harding's recommendations were taken under
consideration. The Clerk was directed to advise Mr. Pacheco that there
was no opening for employment at the sewage treatment plant at present.
The Women's Improvement Club recommendations were referred to Councilman
Hansen.
THERE BEING no further business to come before the Council, the meeting
was adjourned at 9:10 P.M. to meet again in regular session at 7:30 P.M.
on Tuesday, January 3, 1950.
