Attorney
Nilson then reported that following a discussion with the Councilmen on a previous occasion,
that he had under consideration certain amendments drafted by his office to the Milk Ord-
inance. He discussed changes elsewhere, the graduated rates in some localities and made
certain suggestions which he thought were in order. The Mayor felt that the matter should
remain as is until certain changes in State laws were affected and which naturally would
affect the local ordinance. Mr. Keating was anxious to see a flat rate charged instead
of the one presently in affect and stated that he was willing; to pay $15.00 a month. He
also felt that the present ordinance discriminated against him and that a change should be
made.
Councilman Madsen of the Public utilities Department spoke with reference to the
Pleasanton Hotel water mater, stating that the bills had not been paid and that Mrs.
Bieler had raised some objection to seven services being charged her. He stated that he understood that she was to appear before the Board and
that since she was not present and had not sent any further word, it was very evident
that the water situation as far as she was concerned was not receiving any attention. The
Clerk made the suggestion that the matter remain as is until the 25th of the month and if
she did not pay her bill in full on or before that date, that the Water department be
notified and the water shut off. Accordingly, on motion of Councilman Madsen, seconded by
Councilman Brenner and with all the councilmen approving, it was ordered that Mrs. Dieler
be notified of the actions of the Council. Councilman Madsen also reported to the Council
that he had instructions from the Sheriff's office to turnoff the water at the Flede
Kolb property on Ray Street, as the new owners would not be responsible for same.
Councilman Trimingham of the Street and Building committee, reported to the Council
that the Southern Pacific Uompany had installed a safety signal at the crossing at lower
Main Street and that apparently everything was O.K.
Mayor Orloff brought.up the matter of a wig -wag signal in the vicinity of the Western
Pacific Depot on Rose Avenue. He stated that At had been brought to his attention
that cars being placed on the siding in'terferred with the view of the tracks and accord-
ingly a situation had developed that was causing annoyance.to motorists: The Clerk was
instructed to correspond with the Western Pacific Company with regards the matter.
Councilman Brenner of the Laws and Judiciary committee had nothing to report.
Councilman Rivolta spoke with reference to the 400 feet of fire hose lately peceived
from the American Rubber Manufacturing Company and i:t` vias, ordered that same should be returned.
Also, that in case it was necessary to procure hose in the future, that an order for same
should go through in the regular way.
