THE CITY OF
11
pL£ASANTONa CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
May 19, 2015
Operations Services
TITLE: APPROVAL OF SIXTH SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR
WASTEWATER DISPOSAL SERVICES WITH DSRSD
SUMMARY
In 1997, the City of Pleasanton and the Dublin San Ramon Sanitation District entered
into an agreement to pursue the Clean Water Revival (CWR) project, which was
intended to implement a reverse osmosis system to purify wastewater for other uses. In
1999, despite a large investment by DSRD in the project, the CWR project was
mothballed due to public objections about the process. The issue of what financial
obligations each agency had relative to the cancelled project was never resolved. The
proposed Sixth Supplemental Agreement proposes a final and formal resolution to
those issues.
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council authorize the Mayor to execute the Sixth
Supplemental Agreement for Wastewater Disposal Services with DSRSD.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
No direct costs to Pleasanton are incurred from this agreement. Pleasanton will receive
$1,124,098 from the DSRSD Regional Expansion Fund to be used for its recycled water
program costs.
•
