These funds are used by
communities to implement the strategies outlined in the five -year Consolidated Plan for
preserving existing affordable housing, developing new affordable housing, improving
neighborhoods, and expanding economic opportunities for low- and moderate income people.
In Program Year 2008, the City received $274,664 in CDBG funds. This grant was
augmented with unexpended CDBG funds from the previous program year and $35,785 in
program income for a total of $379,078. The City expended $351,278 of CDBG funds on a
variety of activities that primarily benefited low- and moderate income residents. As in previous
years, the City combined CDBG funds with other Federal, State, and local funding sources,
including HOME, Califomia Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) funds, the City's Lower
Income Housing Funds, and General Funds.
Our office has reviewed the City of Pleasanton's 2008 Consolidated Annual Performance
Report (CAPER).
