ATTACHMENT 5
Janice Stern
From: Cyrus Sheik [csheik @lavta.org]
Sent: 2011 -02 -07 11:06 AM
To: Janice Stern
Cc: Jeff Flynn; Janis Stephen
Subject: RE: PUD- 81- 30 -48M / PUD- 85- 82 -01M - Negative Declaration
TO: Janice Stern, Planning Manager, Cornmunity Development Dept, City of Pleasanton
FROM: LAVTA Staff
RE: PUD -81 -30 -48M / PUD- 85 -82 -01 M - Negative Declaration
Dear Ms. Stern,
Thank you for the opportunity to commen: on the above - mentioned document. The proposal would entail construction of
mixed -use development on three vacant properties within the Hacienda Business Park, in proximity to the East Dublin /
Pleasanton BART station. We have the fcllowing comments:
Under Proposed Project Circulation Analysis, pg 17 -23, options are described that would involve the reduction of vehicular
thru lanes and the application of diagonal parking along a segment of Owens Drive, between Willow Road and the
western Kaiser Admin driveway. We agree with the concerns outlined in the report and the potential desired remedies
necessary under the Transit Circulation heading, should a considerable reduction in capacity on that segment of roadway
occur. Currently, LAVTA buses rely on this segment for some - but not all of its routes that exit and enter the BART
station. We concur with the assessment that a bus access option from Owens Drive at the Willow Road entrance to the
Bart station would eliminate or reduce the need for buses to travel through the reduced roadway section of Owens Drive,
and would be desirable.
Also, please take note of the fact that there is currently a bus stop with a shelter and turnout in the eastbound direction of
the section of Owens Drive referred to above, which appears to be affected or eliminated in the plan.
We may have additional comments once detailed plans are available for this development.
Thank you again for the opportunity to comment on this document.
Best regards,
Cyrus Sheik
Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority 925 - 455 -7540
Cc: Jeff Flynn, Planning Director, LAVTA
Janis Stephen, Traffic Engineering Dept, City of Pleasanton
Click
https:// www. mailcontrol.com /Sr /QbSPcXV +5MTTndxlioX7Ungl HF!
