So the original intent was not to prohibit those uses, but approve them as they made sense. There are currently several
"child-based" businesses operating in the park now without incident.Within our own office building, 1020 Serpentine
Ln, we have had the following tenants: Longshore Tutoring and Child Care Links. Longshore was a tenant for seven years
(7) and Child Care Links was a tenant for eleven (11) years. We never had an issue with safety.
Longshore Tutoring was operating in Suite 109, but recently moved out. We would like to utilize this same space for
another business providing the same services. We don't have any forklifts or semis driving in our parking lot since this is
an office building.
Our family owns this building and four otiers within the park. My wife would like to be able to open her own business,
SummerTime Learning Center, in a building we own, providing the same service that had previously operated within this
building for seven (7) years.
If there are still specific safety concerns a member of the board has, we would be happy to talk with him directly to work
out a solution. If not, we respectfully ask the board to reconsider our request for approval.
Thanks,
Bryan B. The Board feels very strong that child-based activities are not safe and not the original intent for
the Valley Business Park. The Park is for 'light industrial' use.
Your application for the tutoring/enrichment learning center is denied.
Cyndi Ladd, CCAM
Senior Director
Common Interest Management Services, CFM
315 Diablo Rd.
