The subject of downtown parking gave me pause, as I would like to see our City become more bike friendly and
more pedestrian friendly. I would love to see more bike lanes, pedestrian lanes and even little shopping shuttle
muses used in the downtown area.
Also, the more traffic that is downtown, the more traffic we have on our streets, and we now have lots of cut-
through traffic on Neal, Second, Division, St. Mary's and Kottinger. First St. always has had heavy traffic and
will have even more with the planned development. Neighbors have talked about requesting signs that limit
parking on our streets, but not sure that is a good idea.
The subjects of parking, traffic calming, pedestrian and bike paths, must be explored thoroughly before
decisions are made. Could parking be provided at the Fair Grounds and shuttle buses be used or walking paths
encouraged? Parking at the Firehouse seems to be used very little, except during performances. Could more
signs direct drivers to that area?
Please share this letter with others.
'hank you for seeking more input. Good luck, and hope your interest in community service extends for many
years.
Sincerely,
Bonnie Krichbaum
Click here to report this email as spam.
2
