Please keep Pleasanton pleasant by denying any amendment to the General Plan that would allow for
housing in this area currently zoned Public and Institutional.
The traffic on the narrow, crowded streets leading from this area to 680 (the commute corridor for most of us in this
area) is already bad, and the Auf for Mur complex is not even populated yet. The City streets and other infrastructure
simply do not support more housing in this area and the proposed housing is not required. As someone who just moved
to Pleasanton, fleeing the overdevelopment in Fremont, I urge you to hold the reigns on development in this beautiful
city. As a long time (18 year) resident of Fremont, I have personally witnessed the deleterious effects of
overdevelopment...residents in Fremont banded together and have sued the city over the type of development now
being proposed in Pleasanton. What a waste of resources for the city and its residents!
Fremont was once a beautiful place that provided an excellent quality of life, but not any more! Traffic is horrendous,
schools are overcrowded and poorly rated (there are only a few well rated schools in the FUSD and they are
overcrowded with high suicide rates amongst the students). People are angry everywhere you go in Fremont because it
is difficult to go about ones errands and other business of life there now. Garbage and graffiti on the streets and violent
criminal activity have spiked up in Fremont as it has gotten more crowded (there used to be virtually no crime there). I
could go on... This is Pleasanton's future if you approve an amendment to the City's General Plan to cram in more
housing by encroaching upon areas currently zoned Public and Institutional.
Please, for the safety and sanity of residents here, do not allow this inappropriate development near the preschool.
Thank you,
Nicole Mason
Pleasanton
Sent from my iPhone
1
