T~ Revenues in Connection with the San Francisco Bernal Property Annexmion ('~he Property Tax Agreement''); and Whereas, the County of Alameda ("'County") currently coo~e~a.tes with other entities in San Joaquin and Santa Clam counties to aSsis: in providing the commuter rail service knov~ as the Alameda County Commuter Express ("ACE~); md, Whereas, the City ofPleasanmn (~Pleasanton") supports the location and construction of a permanent ACE ~ station with parldni spaces su~cient to accom,~od~te 500 cars; and Whereas, the City of Pleasamon recognizes that a permanent location for the ACE train station with parking spaces sufficient:to accommodate 500 cars is a community need of the highest priority; and Where~s, the City of Pleasamon is.interested in considering the ACS station as one oftl-m public uses on the San Francisco Bering:Property; and Whereas, the ACE station is one of the public uses for the Bernal Properq~' being considered by the San Francisco Task Force; a ci~z~ns comminee, charged with recommend/ng the public uses to the City Council; and Whereas, the Council is interested in the San Francisco Task Force ..~xpediting the/r process so that the public uses for the property, ~ncluding the ACE Train Station i£ul~m~ately selected, can be determined in time to coordinate with the construction of the homes and commer~:al by Greenbriar. Now therefore, the Coun~ and Pleasanton agree as follows: 1. The County agr_ ees to execute the Agreemem to facilitate Ple~sanron's annexation of the Bemal property.. 2. After appropriate CEQA review and input from City Commmsions, the San Francisco Task Force and thc public, the City of?leasanton will give serious consideration to desigmtint five acres ofhnd on thc Bernal property, for t~e ACE Tram Station and parking. 3. If the ACE ~ station is not selected as a priority public use for the Bemal properq', the City of Pleasan. ton will give serious consideration to designating five acres of land at another location with convement access to the ACE train route and will expedke the municipal pl~nning process for this specific land use.
