ATTACHMENT 2
Change Orders
Change Order No. 1 for $54,435.82 added a sixth construction phase to the schedule to
safely implement traffic control as there was an insufficient amount of room to maintain
sufficient lanes for the southbound Santa Rita Road traffic in the northwest quadrant.
Change Order No. 2 for $7,748.66 removed the top portion of the existing grade beams
at the approach slabs to allow for the new concrete approach slab at the Santa Rita
Road Bridge.
Change Order No. 3 for $4,256.20 replaced curb and gutter in the southbound approach
roadway of the Santa Rita Road Bridge to improve drainage.
Change Order No. 4 for a $10,000 credit for the elimination of the work to remove the
approach slab under the sidewalk portion in the southeast quadrant at Santa Rita. This
work was revealed to be unnecessary during construction.
Change Order No. 5 for a $3,162 credit for salvaging existing street light poles and lights
instead of replacing the poles at the Santa Rita Road Bridge. (This work in not eligible for
grant funding and credited toward water funding.)
Change Order No. 6 for $68,050 added 1,361 linear feet of crack injection repairs at
West Las Positas Boulevard and Owens Drive as the cracking was much more extensive
than anticipated.
Change Order No. 7 for $28,207.36 replaced portions of sidewalk and curb and gutter at
the northbound approach roadway at the Santa Rita Road Bridge approach to address
water ponding, added temporary k-rail to improve safety after three collisions occurred
during construction, and modifications of the existing concrete grade beam at Santa Rita
Road Bridge that conflicted with the approach slab.
Change Order No. 8 and No. 9 totaling $49,880.76 for work associated with locating the
existing water line that did not match record drawings, installation of an isolation valve,
disposal of asbestos pipe, restoration, and various other water line changes at the Santa
Rita Road Bridge. (This is Caltrans non-participating work and charged toward water
funding.)
Change Order No. 10 for $27,574.25 for expanded limits of paving, clean-up of oil on the
bridge deck from Bay Cities Paving & Grading, Inc., and traffic control to accommodate
the City's Annual Resurfacing Program at the Santa Rita Road Bridge. Due to the
additional phase of construction and delays from the water line work, the bridge work
was not completed in time for the Annual Resurfacing Project start and an expanded limit
of paving was necessary. (This is Caltrans non-participating work and changed toward
street funding.)
