Rules of Construction and Miscellaneous Terms. <br /> <br /> (a) The singular includes the plural~ the masculine gender <br />includes the feminine; "shall" is mandatory, "may" is permissive. <br /> <br /> (b) If a part of this Agreement is held to be invalid, <br /> <br />the remainder of the Agreement is not affected. <br /> <br /> (c) If there is more than one signer of this Agreement their <br />obligations are joint and several. <br /> <br /> (d) The time limits set forth in this Agreement may be ex- <br />tended by mutual consent of the parties in accordance with the procedures <br />for adoption of an agreement. <br /> <br /> 23.
