Zone 7 Water Agency <br />Executive Summary <br />ES.1 Introduction <br />Zone 7 Water Agency (Zone 7) has managed and imported local surface water and groundwater <br />resources for beneficial uses in the Livermore Valley Groundwater Basin (Figure ES -A) for more than 50 <br />years. Consistent with its management responsibilities, duties, and powers, Zone 7 is designated in the <br />2014 Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) as the exclusive Groundwater Sustainability <br />Agency (GSA) within its jurisdictional boundaries. As a part of SGMA, Zone 7 received approval from <br />California Department of Water Resources (DWR) of the Alternative Groundwater Sustainability Plan for <br />the Livermore Valley Groundwater Basin (Alternative GSP) (Zone 7, 2016d) in July 2019. <br />Figure ES -A: Livermore Valley Groundwater Basin <br />SAN RAMON VALLEY <br />GROUNDWATER BASIN i'�"�.
