Action Considerations
Alameda County is currently preparing a policy; consider partnering with the County and/or neighboring jurisdictions that may already have
these policies in place.
:) This regional plan will benefit ecosystem health and support a local, circular economy, including the potential for new, green jobs.
Z The plan is generally well -supported by the community, but the possibility of new requirements and citywide changes to construction
approaches could concern some businesses and would benefit from additional engagement with those entities.
The benefits to public health, ecosystem health, and local air quality will build support for this plan by the community and among businesses.
The possibility of more regulations may encounter some opposition and require additional engagement.
While businesses and community members generally support the carbon storage, ecosystem health, and aesthetic benefits of these projects,
thei- scale and location, as well as the relatively higher cost to the community, may face some pushback. Engagement with these community
members is recommended.
Mary carbon sequestration research and tracking methods are still under development and experimental research will require research and
funding partners.
• Throughout its development and implementation, the plan should prioritize stormwater projects—paired with the anti -displacement efforts in
the Housing Element (Action E6)—in underserved communities to prevent green gentrification and inequitable distribution of water resiliency.
• Ensure outreach is accessible across communities, such as by providing services and materials in multiple languages.
:) Wilcfires and their associated impacts hit vulnerable populations especially hard; these populations should be a focus for this action.
Pleasanton Climate Action Plan 2.0
Section 4.
