Open metal rod fencing shall be limited to 42 inches in height. <br />b. Solid masonry or wood fences shall be limited to 30 inches in height. <br />c . C hain link or cyclone fencing shall be prohibited <br />d. Deer fencing and other roll fencing shall be prohib ited in front and side yards, and where <br />adjacent to public right of way . <br />Do wntown Si tes <br />C7.7 20% of the fa9ade area above the ground-level fronting public right of ways shall be composed of <br />high qual ity materials including brick, stone , masonry , and tile . <br />a. Such high quality materials shall be located to accentuate architectural massing or detail <br />including towers, bays, or window surrounds. <br />C7.8 The fo ll owing standards apply to the Downtown area in addition to standard C7.7: <br />a. Welded wire fencing shall be prohibited <br />b. Rolled fencing (chain link , cyc lone , chicken-wire, deer fencing) shall be prohibited <br />c. PVC (vinyl) fencing shall be prohibited from the front yard setback <br />C 7.9 Metal roofing shall be prohibited . <br />Design Guidelines <br />All Sites <br />C7.a Window locations should emphasize the repeating rhythm of vertical massing elements. <br />C7 .b The material of window trim s shou ld have a co lor that is contrasting with the surrounding wall <br />material on at least two sides of the window perimeter. <br />C7 .c Building facades should clearly relate to each other and communicate a cohesive idea. <br />C7 .d Materials and details should be selected to reinforce architectural character, buildi ng articulation <br />and add visual interest. To the extent fea s ible, detailing should draw from detai ls such as eave, <br />door a nd window trim , balconies, railings, and material accents prese nt in the surroundi ng <br />neighborhood. <br />C7.e Changes in material and/or color should be used to articulate building elements such as building <br />entries; buildi ng base, bu ilding body, and parapet caps; or bays and arcades. <br />C7 .f High quality materia ls identified in Standard 88.2 should be used to provide visual interest at <br />main e ntrances or other important building features . <br />City of Pleasanton -34 -January 5 , 2023 -DRAFT
