Thank you for joining us today and taking the time to meet with us. My <br />name is _______ and this is my colleague _______. We are team members from <br />JSI, a public health research and consulting firm, helping the Tri-Valley to conduct a <br />needs assessment to better understand the strengths and needs of your community <br />in regards to health and human services. <br />My colleagues and I will be facilitating this focus group today. I also have with me, <br />_____ who will be taking notes on what we discuss and helping with any tech <br />issues. The session will also be recorded, so we can make sure we do not miss any of <br />your thoughts but your responses will remain anonymous. <br />As you all are joining, please take a moment to chat in the following: introductions <br />and greet each other. Please unmute and say your name, your organization, your <br />position/role, and something that brought you joy in the last week. <br />The goals of our discussion today are to learn more about your experiences working <br />at non-profit organizations in the Tri-Valley, learn more about your communities’ <br />strengths and challenges, organizational needs, partnerships, and <br />recommendations. <br />This focus group is scheduled to last about an hour and a half. <br />Participation is voluntary. If you prefer to not answer a question, that is okay. We want <br />to be respectful of what each of you shares and for this reason, we ask that everyone <br />in this group respect the confidentiality of others by not repeating what they have <br />heard outside this group. We will not be identifying anyone personally in any of our <br />findings. We will only summarize themes from the focus group discussions. In our <br />report, we may reference a comment you made, but we will refer to individuals as <br />“participants” and will not share any identifying information.
