Page 2 of 2 <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />This street closure information is being provided to provide the City Council with an estimate of <br />personnel costs connected to street closures in 2024. It is estimated the Police Department will <br />expend approximately 414 hours on street closures and event staffing relating to 24 special <br />events this year. Similarly, the Streets Division estimates approximately 364 hours to prepare <br />for, set up, and after the event collect barriers, cones, and barricades for the special events <br />noted in this staff report. <br /> <br />After calculating the Police personnel costs, at an overtime rate, and the Streets Division <br />personnel costs at an overtime rate, associated with 2024 special events, the cost of street <br />closures associated with the events report are approximately $125,106 ($67,122 in the Police <br />Department; $57,984 in the Streets Division). These costs are included in the City’s General <br />Fund budget within the respective departmental budgets.
