We appreciate that Laura and her husband David Ott made financial and emotional investments
in her new beekeeping hobby, but that ought not release them from their obligation to consider
the full impact to their neighbors. Especially since she neglected to obtain the necessary
permits from the City of Pleasanton and permissions from the Vintage Hills HOA (for which she
is president) to keep honey bees at 3132 Tokay Court prior to installing the bee colony and hive.

We are now confronted with a conundrum. Which case has priority: an established garden
designed to be environmentally beneficial and enjoyed safely by the residents and guests of
3145 Tokay Court, or Laura's recently new beekeeping hobby?

Please let me know that you received this letter and if there are any clarifications needed and
add it to file P23-0906.

Thank you for your time and patience as we navigate through this situation.

Sincerely,

Katrina Montesanti

On 01/09/2024 3:11 PM PST Emily Carroll <ecarroll@cityofpleasantonca.gov> wrote:

Hello Mr. and Mrs. Montesan,

I am the planner processing your neighbors' Bee Permit applicaon.

I am reviewing the applicaon materials submied and have been forwarded your leers as well.

Per the municipal code, you will be nofied of the Zoning Administrator acon on the item by mail.

Please let me know if you have any quesons about the process.

Thank you,

Emily Carroll
Associate Planner, Community Development Department
925-931-5608
ecarroll@cityofpleasantonca.gov

City of Pleasanton | P.O.
