First Amendment Page 1 <br />Attachment 1 <br />FIRST AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN PLEASANTON UNIFIED <br />SCHOOL DISTRICT AND CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />This First Amendment to Agreement is entered into this ____ day of __________ 2024 by and <br />between the Pleasanton Unified School District, Pleasanton California, hereinafter referred to as <br />DISTRICT, and the City of Pleasanton, a municipal corporation, hereinafter referred to as CITY. <br />WHEREAS, on November 22, 2021, the CITY and DISTRICT entered into an agreement to <br />allocate a total of two officer positions to the School Resource Officer Program; <br />WHEREAS, the original agreement was for a term beginning on July 1, 2021 and ending on <br />June 30, 2024; and <br />WHEREAS, the CITY and DISTRICT wish to extend the term of the 2021 agreement by one <br />year to end on June 30, 2025. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the parties to this Agreement do mutually agree as follows: <br />1. Section D of the Agreement, "TERM" is amended to read: <br />The term, of this Agreement is four years beginning July I, 2021 <br />through June 30, 2025 (fiscal year for both parties). Police services at <br />the above schools will be provided during the school year, including <br />summer school sessions. Options to renew this Agreement shall be in <br />writing and consent of the CITY and the DISTRICT as permitted by <br />the law. <br />This Agreement may be terminated with thirty-days (30) notice. In writing, by <br />either the CITY or the DISTRICT. <br /> <br />2. This amendment may be executed in multiple counterparts, each of which shall be an <br />original and all of which together shall constitute one agreement. Counterparts may be delivered <br />via facsimile, electronic mail (including pdf or any electronic signature complying with U.S. <br />federal E-Sign Act of 2000 (15 U.S. Code §7001 et seq.), California Uniform Electronic <br />Transactions Act (Cal. Civil Code §1633.1 et seq.), or other applicable law) or other transmission <br />method, and any counterpart so delivered shall be deemed to have been duly and validly <br />delivered and be valid and effective for all purposes. <br />3.
