These internal communications
include an all-staff meeting and nine email updates from the City Manager to keep employees
informed, as well as departmental meetings to provide a forum for dialogue with department
directors. Employees were encouraged to provide ideas for cost reductions and operational
efficiencies, many of which were incorporated into the FY 2024/25 Mid-Term Budget
reductions and the contingency menu for FY25-FY27.

The City has distributed multiple e-newsletters that provided information on the City’s fiscal
challenges and the exploration of a revenue measure to help sustain revenues for the delivery
of the current level of programs and services. In addition, two direct mailers – the community
survey and a special issue of Pleasanton Progress – were delivered directly to all residential
addresses in the city. The community survey was distributed via email and electronically, and
printed copies were made publicly available.

STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT
This item aligns with the ONE Pleasanton strategic plan goal of Funding Our Future that
supports financial health and sound fiscal policies.

FISCAL IMPACT
This is an informational report only; there is no fiscal impact from receiving this report.

Prepared by: Submitted by: Approved by:

Susan Hsieh, Director of
Finance
Susan Hsieh, Director of Finance

Gerry Beaudin, City
Manager

Attachments:
1.
