ACQ580-EOPB07U-EN REVA <br />Effective: 04/01/2020 <br />— <br />NETWORK COMMUNICATIONS <br />Ethernet card, FENA-21 <br />Designed to provide robust Ethernet connectivity the FENA 21 card installs easily and quickly into your drive. <br />Supporting multiple Ethernet protocols, alongside the integrated switch, you have a solution that offers flexibility for <br />your installations with less reliance on external network equipment. <br />The FENA-21 network adapter modules offer connectivity on EtherNet based networks using EtherNet/IP, ProfiNet or <br />Modbus TCP protocols. <br />In EtherNet/IP mode the FENA-21 adapter module acts as a server on an EtherNet/IP network with support for the <br />ODVA AC/DC drive, ABB Drives and Transparent profiles. <br />•Two simultaneous EtherNet/IP connections are supported so that two clients can be connected to the <br />adapter module at a time. <br />•The two ports of FENA-21 give the possibility to use star topology, ring topology or just an integrated <br />Ethernet switch. This interface module can be implemented on a Device Level Ring (DLR), without the <br />requirement to use a DLR external switch. <br />In Modbus TCP mode the FENA-21 module acts as a Modbus/ TCP server with support for ABB drives and <br />Transparent profiles. Common read/write single and multiple register function codes are supported. <br />In ProfiNet mode the FENA-21 module acts as a ProfiNet I/O device with support for PROFIdrive, ABB Drives, <br />Transparent 16bit, Transparent 32-bit profiles, and PROFIdrive positioning mode for ACSM1 Drives. <br />Through the adapter module you can: <br />•give control commands to the drive (for example, Start, Stop, Run enable) <br />•feed a motor speed or torque reference to the drive <br />•give a process actual value or a process reference to the PID controller of the drive <br />•read status information and actual values from the drive <br />•reset a drive fault <br />•read/write parameters of the drive <br />•connect Drive composer pro tool <br />• <br />The FENA-21 module supports 10 Mbit/s and 100 Mbit/s data transfer rates and automatically detects the data <br />transfer rate used in the network and uses Network services: HTTP, DHCP, ABB or Netconfig. The adapter module <br />supports both explicit messaging where each attribute of a class is set individually and implicit messaging using input <br />and output instances. <br />Drive Composer Pro software can be used with FENA-21 to perform a start-up or maintenance for ABB common <br />architecture drives. <br />Page 227 of 658
