applicable.
PCO collaborates with the Pleasanton Unified School District.
Please choose a common indicator that your agency will use to measure participation.
Audience (performance)
Spectators (event)
Participants
Clients
Estimate the total number of unduplicated Pleasanton residents to be served by this
project.
200 - 300 students estimated.
Describe the specific population your agency anticipates serving with these funds and
how they will benefit from the implementation of this project. (e.g. low income, youth,
disabled, etc.)
The clinics serve a population of middle and high school string music students. PCO clinics
are designed to improve upon the technical and musical proficiency of the entire class
ensembles.
Please describe in detail what the community grant funds will be specifically used for.
The community grant funds will be used to pay for the clinicians/musicians and Music
Director.
Describe how this project is cost effective and whether the budget is reasonable for the
anticipated result. If this project does not receive funding, what will be the effect on this
project?
The Community Grant Funds will be used to pay for the clinician/musicians and the music
director. The estimated cost is about $10 per music student, which is extremely cost
effective!
The experience of participating in these clinics and observing professionals perform is
invaluable and has a long-lasting impact. Students who may not be able to afford
instruction from outstanding professional musicians have the opportunity to work with
master teachers.
By bringing these clinics into the classroom, travel expenses are saved, and loss of other
school time is avoided. A clinic during regular class time also maximizes involvement for
those students who cannot participate in such clinics after school hours.
If this project is not funded, we would not be able to offer this service to the teachers and
students.
