I am writing to express my strong opposition to closing
the library 2 days a week and reducing library collections by 50%.
As the most used City facility in Pleasanton, the library is an
essential resource for many people, including myself. I benefit from
this library every day through the downloading and listening to
audiobooks. Whether I'm listening to these audiobooks on my
commute, at work, or while relaxing at home, they truly enhance my
day to day life. Additionally, I have utilized the library in the past year
for studying material for the GRE; I was able to borrow 2 study prep
books immediately for free instead of purchasing them online.
Reducing library access means limiting opportunities for students,
job seekers, families, workers, and community members who
depend on its resources. I urge you to stand with residents and
protect the Pleasanton Library by maintaining its current hours of
operation and collections.
Sincerely, Alexandra
