My understanding is that the manager position is
vacant right now, yet the Energy and Environment Commission (EEC)
is currently meeting/working. Why stop the commission work? V1,b
won't meet our CAP goals without its efforts. This agenda item as
written would stop the EEC from meeting which I believe is a
mistake. For even if there isn't staff available to implement all of the
EEC recommendations, their continued efforts will ensure the city is
ready to hit the grown running once a sustainability manager is
hired.
Thus do not freeze this sustainability manager position, do not stop
the EEC from working.
