RESOLUTION NO. 2025-041 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FUNDING FROM THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL CANNABIS TAX FUND GRANT PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF $150,453.40 WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton desires to reduce the number of Driving Under the Influence (DUI) instances and DUI collisions through the use of funds made available through the Cannabis Tax Fund Grant Program (CTFGP) administered by the California Highway Patrol (CHP); and WHEREAS, CHP has provided notice to the city of its intent to award a grant in the amount of $150,453.40; and WHEREAS, CHP requires that City Council adopt a resolution to be eligible to accept and execute the grant agreement in the amount of $150,453.40; and WHEREAS, grant funds received from the CHP shall not be used to supplant expenditures of the City's General Fund; and WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton procedures require the City Council's approval for all grant applications and funding agreements. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: SECTION 1: The submission of the application and acceptance of funds on behalf of the City of Pleasanton is ratified and approved. SECTION 2: Authorizes the City Manager, or designee, to execute all necessary documents required by the CHP CTFGP. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a regular meeting held on July 15, 2025.
