DISCUSSION
If approved, a resolution to accept the FY 2024/25 and FY 2025/26 TFCA grant funding
(Attachment 1), would support Pleasanton’s trip reduction program goal to increase awareness
and use of commute modes including walking, biking, carpooling and public transit, thus
reducing vehicular traffic and motor vehicle emissions. Similarly for schools, the program
promotes walking, biking, carpooling, and public transit use as feasible school travel modes.

EQUITY AND SUSTAINABILITY
By providing programs, events, and incentives, employers and residents can be better
informed about citywide initiatives. This program goal addresses the City's Climate Action Plan
2.0 action Items E4 – Regional transit support, P10 – Increase transit ridership, and S4 – VMT
reduction for K-12 activities.

OUTREACH
No outreach was conducted for this item, as acceptance of this grant is a routine matter of City
business.

STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT
Approval of this action advances ONE Pleasanton's citywide strategic goal of Investing in Our
Environment - Strategy 6 to continue to implement priority items from the Climate Action Plan
2.0 (CAP) to lead by example in environmental sustainability.

FISCAL IMPACT
The amount awarded is higher than the annual amount of $30,000 budgeted in the
Transportation Demand Management program account (00132300) for FY 2024/25 and FY
2025/26 as it includes $50,500 in City in-kind general fund support (i.e., staff time) for
Pleasanton’s citywide trip reduction program. The FY 2025/26 budget will be updated as part
of the mid-year budget review.

Prepared by: Submitted by: Approved by:

Lisa Adamos, Economic
Development Manager
Pamela Ott, Assistant City Manager

Gerry Beaudin, City
Manager

Attachments:
1.
