According to <br />California Business and Professions Code (BPC) Section 7524, effective July 1, 2025, a <br />contract agreement must be signed by both parties and returned before any work <br />commences. The background investigation may begin upon receipt of the signed <br />agreement, Personal History Statement (PHS), and notarized waiver. Absent extenuating <br />circumstances agreed upon by the agency representative, a completed report shall be <br />delivered to the agency within eight weeks of the date of the signed agreement. Prado 9- <br />1-1 Investigative Services will either hand deliver, mail, e-mail, or meet with the agency <br />representative to deliver the background package upon completion. Prado 9-1-1 <br />Investigative Services shall retain the signed agreement, investigative findings, and <br />written reports for a minimum of two years, making them available for inspection by the <br />Bureau of Security and Investigative Services upon request.
