<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />July 9, 2025 <br /> <br />To the Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council <br />of the City of Pleasanton <br />c/o Ms. Susan Hsieh, Director of Finance <br />123 Main Street <br />Pleasanton, CA 94566 <br /> <br />Dear Ms. Hsieh: <br /> <br />This letter is to confirm our understanding of the terms and objectives of our engagement to perform <br />accounting services for the City of Pleasanton (City). <br /> <br />You have asked our firm to provide you with accounting services including but not limited to preparing <br />journal entries and schedules for the City’s external audit. <br /> <br />In performing our engagement, we will be relying on the accuracy and reliability of information <br />provided by the City’s personnel. We will not audit, examine, or review the information. Please also note <br />that our engagement cannot be relied on to disclose errors, fraud, or noncompliance with laws and <br />regulations that may exist. The procedures we perform in our engagement will be heavily influenced by <br />the representations that we receive from the City personnel. Accordingly, false representations could <br />cause inaccurate findings and, therefore, inappropriate recommendations may be developed and critical <br />recommendations may go unidentified. By signing this agreement, you indicate you understand and <br />accept responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of the information provided to us by the City’s <br />personnel. <br /> <br />We may give you recommendations on how to improve efficiency and effectiveness. The <br />recommendations will be based on the continuing commitment of management. We will work with the <br />employees of the City to help with the implementation. You will, of course, be free to follow or to <br />disregard, in whole or in part, any recommendations we may make.
