Review of the available map for the Site area did
not show oil or gas wells on-Site or on the adjacent properties.
SECTION 5: PHYSICAL SETTING
We reviewed readily available geologic and hydrogeologic information to evaluate the likelihood
that chemicals of concern released on a nearby property could pose a significant threat to the
Site and/or its intended use.
5.1 RECENT USGS TOPOGRAPHIC MAP
A 1980 USGS 7.5 minute topographic map was reviewed to evaluate the physical setting of the
Site. The Site’s elevation is approximately 340 feet above mean sea level; topography in the
vicinity of the Site slopes downward gently to the west-northwest.
5.2 HYDROGEOLOGY
Cornerstone performed a Preliminary Geotechnical Investigation concurrent with this Phase I
ESA that consisted of the advancement of five Cone Penetration Test (CPT) borings to depths
of up to approximately 40 feet. Results from this investigation are reported under separate
cover. The subsurface interpretations indicate that the subsurface materials primarily consist of
clay and silty clay, with some thin sand and silty sand interbeds. Groundwater was not
encountered in these borings. Cornerstone additionally reviewed information available from
nearby properties on the Water Board’s Geotracker database. Information reviewed from the
property located at 927 Main Street in Pleasanton (approximately 1,600 feet southeast from the
Site) indicated shallow groundwater was measured up to depths of approximately 37 feet with a
northerly flow direction. The subsurface conditions appear to be similar beneath the Site.
SECTION 6: HISTORICAL USE INFORMATION
The objective of the review of historical use information is to develop a history of the previous
uses of the Site and adjoining properties in order to help identify the likelihood of past uses
having led to Recognized Environmental Conditions at the Site. The ASTM standard requires
the identification of all obvious uses of the Site from the present back to the Site’s first
Permit for partial demo of wall and installation of rollPermit for partial demo of wall and installation of roll
Site and in the immediate Site vicinity, maps Site and in the immediate Site vicinity, maps
California Department of Conservation, Geologic Energy Management California Department of Conservation, Geologic Energy Management
were reviewed.
