The ability to have samples taken at the jail and dropped into a safe for AF to pickup saves valuable staff time and doesn't incur delivery or pickup costs. Utilizing a drop safe at the jail has been PPD procedure since 2010. Central Valley Toxicology, Inc (CVT), 1580 Tollhouse Rd., Clovis, CA 93611, (559) 323-9940, is not suitable as they do not have a safe at the jail. While their services and fees are competitive, it would significantly impact our existing procedure to transport samples to PPD. Blood alcohol and toxicology testing is a very specific service. Of the two companies offering these services within 160 miles of Pleasanton, AF is th only lab that will provide a safe for sample collection at the jail.
