A regular meeting schedule for the 2026 calendar
year will assist in managing City Council meeting agendas and inform the public of planned
public meetings.

The proposed 2026 calendar year schedule has 19 meeting dates. Regular meetings start at 7
p.m. in the City Council Chambers

RECOMMENDATION
Adopt a resolution setting the 2026 calendar year City Council meeting schedule.

BACKGROUND
The City generally holds 19 or 20 regularly scheduled meetings per year. For the 2026
calendar year, it is proposed that the City Council set 19 regular meeting dates.

DISCUSSION
Typically, regular meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. Regular
meetings start at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. The first meeting of January is not
scheduled due to proximity to City-observed holidays. Meetings in April, August and November
are not scheduled to align with Pleasanton Unified School District breaks, National Night Out/
summer holidays and Election Day. It is recommended that the Council adopt the resolution
setting the 2026 calendar year schedule (Attachment 1). Setting this calendar does not
preclude scheduling additional special meetings.

EQUITY AND SUSTAINABILITY
This schedule does not impact City-observed holidays.

OUTREACH
No outreach was conducted, as this is an administrative matter to conduct City business.

STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT
Not applicable, as this item is a routine item of City business.

FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact associated with this action.
