EXHIBIT A
PROJEСТ ОВJECTIVE
The City of Livermore General Plan Update process considered the possibility of incorporating the area east of Greenville Road
up to the South Bay Aqueduct (SBA) between I-580 to the north and the intersection of the SBA with Greenville Road to the
south. To provide a resource and public guidance document, Tri-Valley Conservancy (TVC) has commissioned a conservation
values study to evaluate the conservation values in this unincorporated area of Alameda County. Monk & Associates, a
biologicalfirm with significant experience in the area, is conducting the study. Their work provides developers (e.g., housing
developers, commercial developers, and pipeline companies) with the ability to develop their lands yet at the same time protect
other lands in the vicinity that support special-status species and sensitive communities in perpetuity.
The Critical Conservation Resources to be evaluated in the East of Greenville Conservation Study include: sensitive vegetation
communities; wetlands and waterways; special-status botanical occurrences and habitat; special-status wildlife occurrences
and habitat; potential wildlife corridors; potential trail corridors; agricultural lands; land use designations; existing protected
lands; and proposed development lands. From Monk & Associates literature review, aerial photo interpretation, and on-site
survey, a description ofplant communities/wildlife habitats, existing land uses, and the potential presence for special-status
plant and animal species and/or their habitats in the study area will be evaluated and discussed. The purpose of this work is to
identify the best and most efficient use of all lands evaluated. This study is intended to provide a framework document to assist
decision-makers and the public on the existing values in the area and appropriate land uses in the area.
Funding Requested: $25,000
Total Project Cost (including in-kind contributions): $60,000
Itemized Project Expenses, including transaction costs:
(Include all project expenses; indicate those that would be paid for with Altamont funds.
Itemized Expenses Requested funding with
this proposal
Funded by another
(Identify the source)
$20,000- Tri-Valley Conservanсу1.
