The applicants submitted their application on April 24, 2025, citing concerns about <br />safety and requesting a security gate to create “a controlled access point that not only deters <br />unwanted visitors, but allows our residents to feel safe and secure in their environment.” On <br />July 28, 2025, two homes on Winding Oaks Drive were targeted in attempted break-ins. The <br />applicant reports that no one was harmed, no homes were entered, and the Pleasanton Police <br />Department (PPD) responded quickly. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION <br />Given the recent attempted break-ins, staff and the PPD are sympathetic to the concerns of <br />the Winding Oaks homeowners and request to install a gate.
