In addition, the City's GIS — which comprises over 2 decades of geospatial-based data — is
built with and operates upon the ESRI software and server infrastructure. Numerous City's
enterprise software and systems, such as the computerized maintenance management
system, MaintStar and land management system, Accela, work directly with ESRI Integration.

ESRI does not have value-added resellers of their products and, therefore, the City purchases
directly from ESRI.

EQUITY AND SUSTAINABILITY
Approval of this action supports the City's Climate Action Plan (CAP 2.0) goals:
• Natural systems section by assisting in the implementation of the Urban Forest Master
Plan.
• Water resources section by supporting and transitioning to smart water meter
installation.
• Material & consumption section by helping with conducting waste-related outreach and
education.

OUTREACH
No outreach was conducted, as this item is a routine matter of City business.

STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT
Approval of this action aligns with the ONE Pleasanton strategic goal of
• Optimizing Our Organization - Procure and integrate critical software platforms across
departments for efficient and effective use by City staff and the public.
• Investing in Our Environment - Develop utilities and Asset Management Plans to reflect
current and future operational needs.

FISCAL IMPACT
The cost for ESRl's SGEA is $58,500 per year for cities with populations of 50,000 to 100,000
residents. ESRI is providing discount pricing of $56,700 for year 1, which was fulfilled through
a Purchase Order, and normalized pricing of $58,500 for year 2 and 3. There is a cost of
$5,900 per year for a GeoEvent Server subscription. These costs are currently funded in the
Information Technology - GIS operating budget (00112201-433155).

Prepared by: Submitted by: Approved by:

William Wang, GIS
Coordinator
Allen Hammond, Director of Information
Technology

Gerry Beaudin, City
Manager

Attachments:
1.
