Pleasanton BART
Existing Physical Site Conditions Opportunities and Constraints Evaluation Oct 16, 2025

10
• Restriping of bike lanes along a section of Owens Dr. to enable bicyclists to cross the street
more smoothly at the existing signalized mid-block crosswalk.
• The westernmost parking lot (Lot D; used for Reserved Parking) will likely be used as a
staging area during construction.
• Pedestrian-scale lighting
• Added wayfinding and signage
• Public art panels

Project stage: Invitation for Bid drawings were issued in Dec 2024. Construction is expected to
start in late 2025 or early 2026.

ii. Valley Link Line and Station

Valley Link is a planned passenger rail service connecting the northern San Joaquin Valley to
the Tri-Valley. The first leg of this new system is proposed to run between Dublin/Pleasanton
and the Vasco Road ACE station with one additional station along the way. The alignment of
this segment is mostly to be constructed within the existing freeway median (along I-580).

Exhibits included in the Environmental Assessment from late 2024 show the proposed Dublin/
Pleasanton Valley Link Station sited south of the eastbound I-580 freeway and the existing
Dublin/Pleasanton BART Station. The new station is designed to provide intermodal service
between Valley Link, BART and local bus transit. Passengers wishing to transfer from Valley
Link to BART or vice versa, would travel down to ground level, exit the station, and cross under
part of I-580 to go to the transfer station. The proposed station design does not include the
construction of any additional parking for the new station.

The scope of this work that impacts the project site includes:
• A 642-foot-long by 30-foot-wide, double-track Valley Link aerial station platform,
approximately 34 feet above ground with shade canopies.
• Stairs, escalators, and elevators for vertical circulation within the station

Figure 3-3: Right of way plan for new Valley Link station and track, showing station location adjacent to the project
site and the temporary construction easement required.
DRA
F
T
