We are one of 7 property <br />owners on private road. I have lived in the Tri -Valley since 1963 and love the area, of course <br />much has changed since those days and along with growth comes more crime. <br />Our last home for 12 years was on -Vinyard Terrace. we loved that house and <br />Neighborhood and never experienced any crime during thar whole tenure. Unfortunately, <br />recently Winding Oaks Drive and surrounding area have experienced a serious uptick in <br />Home Robbery's including one a few weeks age where a black Mercedes with 4 Hooded <br />guys in Black tried to Break in to two of my neighbor's homes when we were all home. <br />Thank goodness no one was hurt, but it has placed a priority on increased security. One of <br />which is a gate below the entrance to our Winding Oaks Drive. Seeing this is a private Road <br />and is 100 percent funded by our 7 property owners, I would hope the City would approve <br />our permit to proceed. Our prior home at -Vinyard Terrace during a remodel the city <br />authorized a gate of which added another layer of security, it had a lock box for emergency <br />services should the need arise. We would of course have a Lock Box on the new Gate as <br />well. <br />Please consider the numerous Gates that have been approved in the surrounding areas <br />that add the similar layer of security we are requesting. Please understand my niegbors are <br />good people from all walks of life, they engage with each other and in fact are planning to <br />Join a neighborhood watch with our Neighbors off of Thiessen. We are all very proud of our <br />City and the Officials that run it along with the Police department, But the Police can only <br />cover so many homes on patrol, and we believe this deterrent will help them cover areas <br />that need more coverage. <br />1 truly hope you consider all the positive benefits to this project and allow me and my <br />Neighbor's to move forward. <br />Regards, <br />Bob and Nancy Matheson <br />
