Zone 7 delivers water to
City via existing transmission system and turnouts. This is the interim arrangement for City and represents baseline conditions.
3 - City builds, owns, and operates new wells to recover the use of its GPQ. The park locations of Bernal and Del Prado have since be found to not be feasible making this
alternative no longer recommended. Refer to Water Supply Alternative Study, 2023 by Brown & Caldwell (Alternative 3) for description of groundwater supply facilities and basis
of cost estimate. Note cost shown here excludes the "Infrastructure Improvements" line item and is increased by 4% to escalate from 2024 to 2025 dollars.
Summary of Akel Recommended Distribution Improvements Applicable to Groundwater Supply Project by Alternative
2 - Zone 7 and City jointly construct new groundwater facilities for both regional use and for City to recover GPQ. Zone 7 operates facilities and delivers City GPQ via existing
transmission system and turnouts. Refer to Regional GW Facilities Project Feasibility Study, 2025 by LSCE for description of groundwater supply facilities and basis of cost
estimate. Note cost shown here reflects City cost share and is in 2025 dollars.
4 - City builds, owns and operates new wells to recover the use of its GPQ at Tennis Park and Hansen Park. Refer to Evaluation of GW Supply Alternatives from Bernal
Subbasin, 2026 by Carollo for description of groundwater supply facitlies and basis of cost estimate.
