Steve Otto

From:
Sent:
To:
Subject:

Mark Pfiscam [mark_priscaro@yahoo.com]
Saturday, September 06, 2003 9:50 PM
Steve Otto
RE: Application for Crown Pub in Pleasanton

Hi Steve,

I am writing you to offer my and my wife's full
support to approving the Crown Pub's application to
open a second Crown Pub in Pleasanton at 780 Main
Street. Neither of us can make it to the 9/10
Planning Commission meeting, thus this letter of
support in lieu of our attendance.

We are residents of Pleasanton and have patronized the
Crown's existing establishment in Danville a number of
times.

The service and atmosphere (not to mention the unique
British menu) are excellent and we firmly believe this
would be a terrific addition to the many restaurants
currently operating on Main Street, especially since
the Crown provides a British-inspired menu which is
distinctly different from any of the existing
establishments.

If you've never been to the Crown Pub in Danville,
please understand the Crown is NOT simply a 'bar' that
just happens to serve food 'on the side.' The menu is
extensive and they provide a dinner atmosphere which
we feel is very warm and family-friendly, in our
opinion.

That said, we understand there is some opposition to
the application and would be hard-pressed to
understand why, unless possibly it's coming from
existing eating/drinking establishments within close
proximity to 780 Main Street.

If that's the case, we say "too bad!" Welcome to the
free enterprise system, otherwise known as the USA.

Neither my wife nor I have any affiliation or
relationship (personal or professional) with any of
the owners or management of The Crown Pub.

We're simply voicing our support as residents of
Pleasanton who have discovered and enjoyed going to
this pub/restaurant several times in Danville and
would very much love to see a second location open
here in Pteasanton.

The only down side is we might have a tough time
getting a reservation once others in town discover the
place!

As far as city coffers are concerned, we're also
pretty confident The Crown Pub will generate far more
tax revenue than the existing coffee house has.

The Crown Pub is a good fit and excellent addition to
the businesses on Main Street and we urge you to

1
