DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT

Chris J. Wenzel - Chief of Police

June 10, 2003

The City of Pleasanton
Attn: City Council Members
123 Main Street
Pleasanton, CA 94566-0802

RE: The Crown British Pub & Restaurant

Dear Council Members:

This is a letter of recommendation regarding The Crown British Pub and Restaurant in
Danville, California. The Danville Police Department has had no negative contact with
this restaurant or with its owners: David and Lyn Kay and Paul and Mary Kennard.
Additionally, the staff at The Crown has given the Danville Police Department no
dissent, no code violations or problems of any kind since their restaurant was established
in the Town of Danville.

The Town of Danville holds many special events in which the downtown area is
completely closed to traffic. The Crown happens to be located in this area, and the staff
has been nothing but cooperative in helping the Danville Police Department successfully
create a stress and traffic free environment for such events. During the past two years, I
have been fortunate in getting to know and work with the staff at this establishment
through both calendared special events and through their kindness in hosting "Tip-A-
Cop" fundraisers with us to raise monies for Special Olympics. In addition to that, I am
a frequent customer.

I wanted to let you know through this letter that The Crown British Pub and Restaurant in
Danville, California is a wonderful establishment and a pleasure to have and work with in
this or any other community. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Terri Pulliam
Community Services Officer
Danville Police Department

510 LA GONDA WAY · DANVILLE, CA 94526 · (925) 314-3410 · FAX: (925) 820-1641
