I
have lived in Pleasanton for about eight years now and have lived in my downtown location for four years. I moved downtown
because I like being so close to restaurants and other amenities.

Over the years I've read and heard neighbors complaining about the noise in living downtown. I've heard complaints about the
traffic, busses, garbage trucks and trains. And, of course, I've read and heard complaints about people walking to their cars at
night and during street fairs/closures. I'm really amazed at these people. Why did they move downtown?

A city has to have restaurants and music venues to be a "real" city. No city of any interest closes up at 10:00. Let's make
Pleasanton a destination instead of sending the daytime visitors home at night. Many people come to this town to shop or
participate in the many street fairs on Main Street. A nice casual, friendly restaurant would be a welcome addition to the usual
Main Street white table cloth restaurants. It's also a perfect venue for families since it serves great food at reasonable prices.

The Crown Pub seems like a very respectable restaurant/pub. I've been to the Danville restaurant on several occasions and can
see no reason such an establishment would not be welcome here.

I whole-heartedly encourage the Planning Commission to approve the Crown's application.

Sincerely,

Nanette Vogel
503 Saint John Street
417-1441

9/4/2003
