With the kids moved out a short
time ago, it was time to downsize. My wife and I considered options and
decided to stay in Pleasanton, moving to Castlewood two years ago into what
we consider our “forever” home. With this move, I have learned more about
what it means to live in Pleasanton, yet not be part of the city. We participated
in helping to shape the City, vote on local issues, contribute taxes directly to
city. I'd like to see us part of the City.
To that end, I am aware that the City has a line item on the Project
Prioritization List called “Annexation of Various Areas” with an objective to
determine if annexation of areas like the Remen Tract, Happy Valley,
Castlewood, Lester should be brought into the City's official boundaries.
My request today is for the City Council to support initial analysis towards
Castlewood annexation. I hope that the resulting data will help this project
become a “Committed Priority”, or so compelling, for safety, infrastructure,
water supply, and “everyone belongs” that it becomes a “Must Do” priority. A
win-win for the City and residents.
Thank you.
