EXHIBIT A

SECOND AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT
This Second Amendment (“Amendment”) to the Emergency Medical Services First Responder Advanced Life
Support Services Agreement (“Agreement”), made and entered into on July 1, 2019, is made by the County of
Alameda (“County”) and the City of Pleasanton (“Contractor”).
For valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is hereby acknowledged, County and
Contractor agree to amend the Agreement in the following respects:
1. Section 2.1 of the Agreement, concerning the term, shall be deleted and replaced with the following
language:
2.1 The term of the agreement shall be July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2029. The EMS Agency may
terminate this Agreement earlier if the County initiates a new EMS system design that
significantly alters service delivery, and a new Agreement is negotiated with the Contractor.
2. Except as expressly modified by this Second Amendment, all of the terms and conditions of the
Agreement, are and remain in full force and effect.
