EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT INTERIM CITY MANAGER THIS EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT is made on June 2, 2026, between the City of Pleasanton ("City") and Joseph Calabrigo ("Calabrigo") concerning the City's employment of Calabrigo as the City's Interim City Manager. RECITALS A. Calabrigo has education, training, and experience in local government management. B. City desires to employ Calabrigo as the City's Interim City Manager. NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants and conditions in this Agreement, City and Calabrigo agree as follows: 1. Duties. City agrees to retain Calabrigo as Interim City Manager as provided in this Contract, effective June 8, 2026. Calabrigo shall perform the duties of the City Manager of the City of Pleasanton specified in Chapter 2.08 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code, including administering the day-to-day affairs of the City, and shall perform such other functions as are authorized by the City Council and by ordinance. 2. Term and Termination. A. This Agreement shall commence on June 8, 2026, and shall continue until a permanent City Manager assumes his or her position. B. Either party may terminate this Agreement at any time, subject only to providing 10 days prior written notice to the other party. The City may terminate this agreement pursuant to Paragraph C of this section, without the need to provide 10 days prior written notice. C. The City Council may immediately terminate this Agreement for: (1) abuse of drugs or alcohol which materially affects the performance of his duties as Interim City Manager; (2) repeated and protracted unexcused absences from the City Manager's Office; (3) conviction of a felony; (4) conviction of a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude; or (5) commencement of employment from another source which is inconsistent with serving as Interim City Manager. 3. Compensation. The salary for the position of Interim City Manager shall be $25,000 a month to be paid every two weeks on the same schedule as pay is provided to regular full-time employees. Calabrigo shall receive no employment benefits (including, but not limited to, retirement, vacation leave, sick leave (except as required by law), floating holiday pay, administrative leave, health, dental, or any other benefits given to regular, full-time employees)
