A qualified
Archaeologist shall be consulted for an immediate evaluation of the
find prior to resuming groundbreaking construction activities within
20 meters of the find. If the find is determined to be an important
archaeological resource, the resource shall be either avoided, if
feasible, or recovered consistent with the requirements of the
California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines.
confirm inclusion of
a note indicating
the potential to
encounter buried
cultural resources,
Retention of a
qualified
Professional
Archaeologist who
shall review and
evaluate any
discoveries and field
verification and
incident
documentation.
3.6 Geology, Soils, and Seismicity
MM GEO-1: Design-level Geotechnical Study
Prior to the issuance of any building or grading permits, a design-
level geotechnical investigation on the project site and review of
detailed site plans shall be performed by a qualified Geotechnical
Engineer. The design level geotechnical investigation could
incorporate a variety of field methods and would include (but not be
limited to) the following items:
xx Evaluating the lateral extent and depth of colluvial soils.
xx Performing a seismic refraction survey to determine shear wave
velocities at deeper depths.
xx Analyzing and developing slope grading and engineered buttress
fill design criteria.
xx Evaluating upslope sources of water.
xx Evaluating the Site Classification for Seismic Design.
xx Estimating appropriate minimum building setbacks from the face
of fill slopes

Review of
documentation
prepared by a
qualified
Geotechnical
Engineer, agency
review by the City
Engineer
Prior to issuance of
any grading or
building permits.
City of Pleasanton
Community
Development
Department Planning
Division
