RESOLUTION NO. 2026-055 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FUNDING FROM THE CALIFORNIA <br /> HIGHWAY PATROL CANNABIS TAX FUND GRANT PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT <br /> OF $81,071 <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton desires to reduce the number of Driving Under the <br /> Influence (DUI) instances and DUI collisions through the use of funds made available through <br /> the Cannabis Tax Fund Grant Program (CTFGP) administered by the California Highway Patrol <br /> (CHP); and <br /> WHEREAS, CHP has provided notice to the City of its intent to award a grant in the <br /> amount of $81,071; and <br /> WHEREAS, CHP requires that City Council adopt a resolution to be eligible to accept <br /> and execute the grant agreement in the amount of$81,071; and <br /> WHEREAS, grant funds received from the CHP shall not be used to supplant <br /> expenditures of the City's General Fund; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton procedures require the City Council's approval for all <br /> grant applications and funding agreements. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE, AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1: The submission of the application and acceptance of funds on behalf of <br /> the City of Pleasanton is ratified and approved. <br /> SECTION 2: Authorizes the City Manager, or designee, to execute all necessary <br /> documents required by the CHP CTFGP. <br /> PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br /> a regular meeting held on July 7, 2026. <br /> {Vote and signatures to follow on next page} <br />
