Section 3.20.030 of Chapter 3.20 of Title 3 of the Pleasanton Municipal
Code is amended to read as follows:
3.20.030. Imposed—Rate.
For the privilege of occupancy in any hotel, each transient is subject to and
shall pay a tax in the following amounts:
A. Eight percent (8%) of the rent charged by the operator for any
period of occupancy commencing before July 1, 2027;
B. Ten percent (10%) of the rent charged by the operator for any
period of occupancy commencing on or after July 1, 2027, and before July 1, 2028;
and
C. If for any reason the tax due is not paid to the operator of the hotel, the tax
administrator may require that such tax shall be paid directly to the tax
administrator.
SECTION 2. This ordinance relates to the levying and collecting of the City's Uniform
Transient Occupancy Tax and shall take effect immediately.
SECTION 3.
